The channel tunnel is a undersea rail tunnel connecting britian and france, the tunnel opened in 1994 this helped the british and the french people to leave their country and go somewhere else, also every time they wanted to travel they wouldn't have to take the aeroplane to go to their destination.
Better Technology
These days, more people use the internet to book their holidays online e.g, accommodation, flight and ancillaries, it probably has something to do with companies merging with each other so it's difficult to find a local travel shop. As many people start to book online the travel agencies are becoming less popular so companies are reducing their operating cost. Booking online is usually cheaper than going to a travel agent. however, if you book with a travel agent you will be protected such as, financial protection also you will get a suitable holiday.
Merger of Thomson Holidays and First Choice
Thomson holidays tour operator and first chioce tour operator merged in 2007 they are an Individual therefore their customers think they are an individual organisationis, that's an example of a horizontal integration. Since Thomson and first choice merged together they have been having more customers, selling more holidays and making more profit than ever.
EasyJet
EasyJet airline was introduced in 1995, easyjet was the first low-cost airline but now it's the second largest low-cost carrier in Europe. the people then were pleased that they could travel to another country easily and fast with just paying less amount of money. however, now a days low-cost airlines are not as low-cost as they use to be, they charge people for suitcases, food and drink. After airlines like ryanair started low-cost airlines are getting more and more competitive they all want to make the most profit, so they charge you more than they shouldn't.

Since 31st december 1992 all UK tour operators offering package holidays have been subject to the package travel regulation, your holiday should be everything a travel agents/tour operator told you it would be in the begginnig of the contract if it's not the organiser will be fined. The organiser can't change the time of your flight, If something goes wrong and your flight is cancelled your organiser will have to book you the same holiday or a better holiday, maybe even give you the money back.

Air passenger duty come in effect in 1 november 1994, in 1996 APD was reduced on economy flights, opening the development of inbound tourism. it' s a british tax only if you are a business men it's more expensive. In 2006 it got importantly increased also in 2010 a new increase came in effect, APD keeps increasing this year it has risen up to 8%

Introduction of High Speed Train network in Europe
On January 1, 1999, the European Union introduced its new currency, the euro, The euro was a main currency used for exchange between countries within the union while people in the countries continue to use their own currencies. there is a different currency for every country.
